Me and my Hubby!

I have always been a sticker to say that, although the classical method of teaching is attractive, it is definately not for us! Well, I am discovering I was wrong!

I was surprised to learn that the things we are using this year are typically used in classical education. My daughter is thriving and I am enjoying teaching. Everything we are using this year is new to us, except Teaching Textbooks, with I will never give up!

All Classical Stuff:
History: Mystery of History
Geography, also by Bright Ideas Press: The Ultimate Geo & Timeline Guide
Science: Considering God's Creation
Vocab: English From the Roots Up

Other Things:
Easy Grammar & Daily Grams (no more tears over grammar in our house)
Math: Teaching Textbooks
Bible: Picture Smart Bible (also incorporates art...love it!)

Here's hoping that the year continues to flow smoothly!

Awesome!!  I would like to see a review on Considering God's Creation.  Sounds like a really interesting curriculum, I have never heard of it before.  What ages do you think this would be good for?

Considering God's Creation is supposed to be for 3-8th grade, HOWEVER it is easily adapted for younger students.  I am using it this year with my 1st and 2nd graders...

I had read where some had said it was easily adapted for younger ones and then others say it was not.  Are you using this as a stand alone or do you need to supplement with it?  I have seen some go both ways with that as well.

It is our stand alone curriculum, however if they are interested in a topic I will do some extra read alouds, or activities.  Smiley  I have had no trouble with my boys on this curriculum.  Really it's great!  I love it.  There are some activities I have cut out, to make it more grade apropriate, but as I said it's designed for older ones, I'm changing it to fit my boys.

We love it and it is easy to teach! By the end of the year we will have a great notebook that was put together without much "effort". Their worksheets and notebooking pages are idiot proof, which I like, I am NOT crafty!

I did a full review here: http://heartsathomekids.com/store/index.php?main_page=page&id=29
