Well, we've made it through almost an entire school year doing the Sabbath Schooling (original post

Overall, I LOVE it. No calendar will be perfect, but this is pretty close. Every year I suffer from
extreme burnout and fatigue. I'm not a "go-getter" or over-committed, so I figured it had to do with our calendar. Thankfully, God intervened! I saw the post about Sabbath Schooling on this forum and decided to give it a shot.
No burnout this year! It's June and I feel like I could go on this way forever. Which is a good thing, because we have exactly one month to go.
When Spring Fever hit, I didn't have the same motivational issues I usually have. Like getting out of the bed.

I did still feel the urge to skip school, but I was able to resist because my stamina was still going strong.
The kids have also not experienced burnout, particularly my oldest (ds12), resulting in WAY less arguing between us. It's been huge for repairing our relationship.
It was hard to get used to going six full weeks without a break. But I got used to it. And then when a holiday popped up and we only went 5 or 4 weeks, it felt heavenly!
Admittedly, it was hard when all my friends were posting on Facebook that they were done with school, and we still had about six weeks to go. But they eventually stopped posting and I was over that in a jiffy. I have to say here, I think it might be harder if we didn't live in the country, and my kids had to see p.s. kids playing out the window.
Another good thing is that it has been SUPER hot for this time of year in S.C.--too hot to play outside--and doing school has kept the kids busy and out of my hair. No summertime Mom-I'm-Bored's

We'll still get an extended break from mid-July to at least mid-August. I'm not sure when I'm going to start back. But I do know it will be when I feel ready curriculum-wise, rather than motivation-wise.
