Phillipians 3:2-Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision.

When Paul is speaking of Dogs, he is not speaking of the domestic pets, he is speaking of the wild and dangerous dogs that scavaged for food and attacked humans. Its odd that Paul would call a Jew a dog because that is what the Jews called the gentiles to signify their uncleaness. Yet Paul is saying that is exactly what a false teacher is, One  who rips you apart on the inside by feeding you posion, making you sick and unclean.

Then He speaks about evil workers, A false teacher tells you a falsehood about God and His word, they are actually workers of Satan who think that they are doing right. They have twisted the truth so that it has no righteous effect in the soul. learning from a false teacher makes you a disciple of that teacher not a disciple of Christ.

He speaks about the false circumcision, which is a false teacher who says you need something else apart from Christ to be saved.  In this case the Judizers were saying you need to keep the law and be circumcisied to be saved. When the truth is, You need Christ alone.

One of the true marks of a Christian is his or hers ability to discern truth from error!

Wise words from my wonderful mentor, Mrs. Cindi! Thank you Mrs. Cindi for sharing.

WOW!!! It is no accident that I found this today. Thank you Jesus, and thank you Carrie!

"The false circumcision" "The truth is, you need Christ alone."

AMEN!!!!

Just got done with an unintended debate with someone on the role of baptism in our salvation. I can't stand it when someone resorts to lame personal attacks when they can't prove their point on their own with scripture. Just because someone disagrees with me on the interpretation of scripture doesn't mean I am "following man and not God."

Okay. Just needed to vent. Now I feel better!  Grin
