A local church had a clothing giveaway today. There were also books and toys and household goods. Everything was FREE! What a good idea that was! There were SO many clothing items!

I found some stuff for my mom. The church members all donated stuff. I think this day and age with the amount of jobless people out there, this is a perfect community outreach!

We do that in July every year. It is called Family Fun Day. We give away clothes, backpacks, school supplies, food, drinks, toys, household stuff, and we have face painting, bouncers, singers, and all kinds of stuff. Like a carnival only it is all free!!!

It is really a good idea! I am gonna bring it up at my church. We do free festivals every year for Easter and Fall, but this would be a good way to reach out to the community.

My sister-in-law is doing this at her church. They are using a small classroom as a clothing closet for those in need. People bring in donations, and then anyone can come and choose from what is there. Every three weeks my sister-in-law takes what is left over to a thrift store and donates it. They do shoes, purses, and clothing. I was able to get a few things for our family that were greatly needed. When you can't even afford the thrift store, it's an amazing blessing.
