Just curious to see how long other family's days are.  We start around 10 am each day and do the actual lesson part of our day until noon, then we have lunch and they spend an hour working on their individual work that I've placed in their folders.  After that the day is theirs to do as they wish, sometimes we'll have a project to do after folder work, other times we'll watch a movie, and sometimes we don't plan anything but just have a lazy day and goof off the rest of the day.

So how does your day look?

Preschooling is weird.....at least for us. We go in  15 min. spurts throughout the whole day from the time we get up till bedtime somedays. Embarrassed We just do whatever we can as long as she will pay attention, then we stop till she is ready for more. I have found she retains more this way. Smiley

I can see that with Preschool!  We did the same thing in Kinder, I would do a little and then play, then do a little, then play, then have lunch and nap, then do a little more, and play.  all day long!  It was necessary, however now that I have a little one as well as school agers we have to do the stuff that needs mommy's undivided attention while baby is napping, then we can play!

Well, that depends on when we get started. My 11 yr old son likes to get up by 6 and get going and can be done with his morning "assignments" by 10:30. My 13 yr old daughter, on the other hand, is dealing with the sleepy puberty stuff and drags herself out of bed for family devotional at 7, drags around getting dressed, eating breakfast, etc and rarely starts her work before 10, LOL! The reason this works ok is because we have started using the workboxes system. I put each workbook, game, worksheet, textbook, cd rom, etc in its own tray/box with the assignment for each day marked. This is great for us. I don't worry anymore about starting "on time" because they both know they work through their trays until they are done, then they get lunch until 1 pm. We do our literature stuff, including reading, after lunch because they both love to curl up on the couch with a book and this gives them plenty of time to read before their after "school" activities. We only do this three days a week because we have a history co-op on Mondays and science on Tuesdays.

I wish I could be that scheduled. I like the family devotional time thing. I should figure a way to do that with mine!

I want to have family devotional every day but it's so hard to do when DH is at work all day 4 days a week!  Hopefully we can figure it out soon, though on his three days off we do have devotions after supper Smiley

With teens we are never all home at the same time...however me,dad, and the little are usually all together. I will have to work on it.

I hear that, teenagers are always somewhere...It's not been so long that I can't remember what I was like as a teen, though I wasn't typical because I prefered to be home cutting grass, or caring for the garden.

I can't get mine to stay home...except for the 14DD and that is only because she can't really go anywhere yet. They don't have yard stuff to do because the prisoners do it out here.

Well, I grew up on a goat farm, there was always work to be done if you were willing to do it.  I prefered to do it, my 'sister' however would much prefer to be out and doing stuff so I was often sent along as the 'babysitter' even though I preferred to stay home.

anywhere from 3 hours to 6 hours.LOL It just depends on which kid, what they are struggling with that day, and how long they just want to space out and not do their work Grin
